YOP11 Week 38/52 – Pastel drawings

Knitting

I have been knitting on the shawl, but I haven’t really been comfortable knitting in bed so it’s been going slow. The marker shows where I was last photo.

Painting/Drawing

I got my pastels and paper out to make a thank you present for my husband for looking after me and being my chef and butler for 10 days.

Months ago I’d printed a photo of our dog to use when I eventually make a felted picture of her. I forgot to photograph the picture before popping it in a frame, so sorry about reflections.

Before it was framed I did create a little Instagram reel which shows the original photo too. If you are interested, here’s the link.

The following day I did a beachscape picture, again with pastels.

Other News

I finally tested negative on Wednesday and Thursday so I am finally out of isolation but doing anything is pretty exhausting and I am still napping when I need to.

This is a Year of Projects post.  Officially the Group is in its 11th year, but this is my 4th year participating.  If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry.  Year 11 list.

  1. Knitting in bed is a tough thing unless you have a bed that articulates. Luckily for me, I have one of those LOL. Ylva’s portrait is beautiful. What a great subject she is. Your beach scene is so pretty. I could almost hear the waters. Take care of yourself. Nap when you need to. The lingering effects of covid seem to last a while. Did you ever loose your taste or smell?

  2. Beautiful work. I think knitting in bed is pretty hard to do even if you’re not unwell. I hope you start feeling better soon.

  3. I’m so glad you are finally testing negative! Rest well, your body is recovering from fighting off illness! I hope you are feeling great soon!
The pastels are stunning, the ocean scene reminds me of your felted art pieces.

  4. Sorry to hear that recovering from Covid is taking so long. Hope you get your strength back soon. Yours is certainly a cautionary tale to remain vigilant. I know I’m getting lax. The painting of your dog is just beautiful.

  5. Yay for your husband taking good care of you. I hope each day you get a little more strength. Your pictures are beautiful and the shawl has a lovely green that reminds me of St. Patrick’s Day. Take care!

  6. Your picture of your dog is beautiful. I watched the reel on IG and you really captured her well. So glad you’re testing negative, and are feeling well. A friend of mine tested positive for weeks. She was also exhausted for weeks. Don’t know what’s up with that – maybe it’s different types of tests? I think we can all expect to get COVID at some point now. I’m amazed we haven’t yet. Nearly everyone we know has gotten it, and 2 friend/acquaintances have died from complications. I really don’t know how we’ve escaped so far. Glad you’re better!
