Knitting
Jumpers/cardigans
Well I must have dreamt I finished the yoke on my Avena jumper. When I opened the project bag this week to try it on I realised I’m still on the yoke…I wasn’t even half way through the colourwork 😂

Other/household
I cast on a dish cloth with the wrong number of stitches but it’s loosely the Waffle Weave dishcloth. It’s a dishcloth so it doesn’t really matter how it looks and it’s full of mistakes.

Spinning
I finally got around to plying both the blue and a separate blue I mixed with yellow baby camel and silk singles.

I have one blue left and a few more yellows left to spin and then I’ll have finished the 2021 advent from Coastal Colours!
Weaving
Frame loom
I had another play with my frame loom, doing a 2nd little tapestry weaving. This one is a little better with the tension as it doesn’t get as narrow near the top like last week’s did.

I did solid blocks of colour for the sea without blending to see how it looked and I’m not as keen as when I put the other colours through it like last week’s. I’ve gone too dark in the top of the sky but as I’ve mentioned these are just samples for practice.
I’m a bit limited on colours as this was just a pack of Scottish new lambswool in 9 colours. Weirdly the pink is far finer so I added that as an extra weft with the green rather than separate rows of it.
A zillion years ago (30+) I painted this crayon and watercolour painting and I thought about using it as some inspiration to try some different shaped weaving at some point.

Other News
On Monday I jet washed the patio and footpaths including the one up to the greenhouse. It all looks so much brighter now.
I tried to hang the picture shelf in my craftroom and had a disaster. I made a hole but there was something weird going on behind the plasterboard/dry wall(?). I’ll get a shorter shelf for there and hopefully the middle of that wall section is better. I put some filler in the hole and need to repaint it.
I dropped off quite a few things at a couple of charity shops and the textile recycling drop, so that feels good. I’m really trying to be a bit more ruthless.
This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 13th year, but this is my 6th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us. (There are 53 Sundays this YOP year, it happens sometimes!).
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your watercolor. That type of art is exactly what I prefer. Beautiful colors! It is such a happy piece. Definitely needs to be displayed!! I like the babbles in your first tapestry sample. Makes me think of sheep. Your Avena looks great so hopefully you are enjoying it even if you aren’t as far on it as you thought. Congrats on almost finishing your 2021 Advent Calendar. My 2022 mini skein one is still in the closet. It doesn’t count until I actually open it right??

The jumper is pretty. What a disappointment to discover you were not done with the yoke. your spun yarn is pretty too. What will it become? You are getting good with your weaving. Your crayon/watercolor art piece is very eye catching. It would such a great inspiration piece in a craft room. Sounds like you are getting things ready to spend more time out doors.

I love the yoke on your Avena, so pretty. I don’t see the mistakes in your dishcloth, the pretty colors in the yarn cover up a lot :).
I like your weaving, I think we are our own worse critics, I think they both look very nice!

Avena looks brilliant, lovely pattern and beautiful colours. I also can’t see any mistakes in the cloth, but won’t matter of course!
