Acquisitions/Collection Curation
6 balls of Wool and the Gang Feeling Good alpaca yarn arrived this week. This is the cosy yarn I’d used on my Sunday Sweater by Petite Knit. I think I may make another one but in a smaller size, it’s like wearing a hug it’s so snuggly. Or maybe something else. It was a cheer myself up purchase.

I am really enjoying opening my yarn and fibre advents each day.
The yarns are from Bluebell Yarns and are a blend of Bluefaced Leicester, Shetland and Alpaca non-superwash. Its inspired by Kingston Lacy Gardens so it’s all natural tones and I think it will make a lovely…something yet to be decided. Here’s a few of them.

The World of Wool fibre advent has had so much thought put into it. The theme is Christmas Characters Old and New. There’s a booklet and each individually wrapped 50g ball of fibre is lovely so far.

Knitting
Jumpers/cardigans
I only added a few rows to my jumper this week.
Weaving
Inkle loom
I have continued with my tablet/card weaving. This pattern is not “twist neutral” meaning twist keeps building up behind the cards. To avoid this I played around with reversing the pattern. I’m really enjoying it and can see me doing more patterns. This photo was of my sample section, I am now doing 6 waves one way and then 6 the other and making a longer length piece.

To avoid the twist build up I’ve seen on YouTube people using fishing swivels so I think I’ll pick up a small pack of those for my next project. The only downside with this hobby is I can’t comfortably do it in the living room, only on my craftroom desk. I tried doing it on a little table in there but the loom is too long and thin for a good angle.
Other News
Not much else to report this week. I’ve had some stomach issues this week which have wiped me out a bit. Before Christmas we have a trip to the Isle of Skye planned so I’m looking forward to that.
This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 14th year, but this is my 7th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us.

What a beautiful belt your weaving would make. I love red and black (uh, it’s the color of my living room carpets and furniture. Yes – I have red carpet even though it severely shows dog hair. Do I care? No) Love your variegated advent minis. Can’t wait to see your advent fiber spun up.

Look at all that scrumptious yarn. Your advent yarns are so pretty. The warmth of the Bluebell Yarns are so special. Tue fact they are natural colors makes them even more special. Enjoy your holiday.

Thank you. The tablet weaving I am finding much more enjoyable than pick-up. Already on the look out for another pattern to try. 😀
