Pattern summary

What a fun pattern to knit! I can see why people knit so many.  It’s easy to follow and pretty simple.  I have already lined up some other handspun to make another.  It’s a great way of using up small amounts. On YouTube you’ll find videos for how to make and sew it together…I didn’t realise this until I had the eyes to fit. They are maybe a little higher than they should be, it would be good if the written instructions had more information on this.

Yarn Summary

Well since the yarn is my own handspun I can’t really fairly judge it.  Many of you will know I’m not a fan of orange. Trying to use up lots in a project to give away seemed like a good idea.

The North Ronaldsay is pretty toothy, the Cheviot a little less so but firmer, then there’s the merino & silk blends that are very soft and its beak is the softest baby camel and silk…it was the only yellow yarn I had. The orange merino/silk was a little thinner and so you can see some stuffing though those sections.

So it’s a bit of a hodgepodge of yarns and feel, but all from my stash. I just had to order some eyes.
