A selection of fairies are now available for sale in the Alchemist Gallery in Dingwall, in the Highlands of Scotland.
Have you bought a fairy or a princess? Have you given it a name? Is it for a Christmas decoration or for year round decoration. If you have an Instagram account I would love to see where your fairy/princess lives. Tag your photo with #highlandheffalumpfairy so we can share the love.
If you are wondering why only some fairies have wings, these are some of the reasons:
- Perhaps you don’t believe in fairies and prefer to think of them as princesses.
- You do believe in fairies, but think that some fairies haven’t earned their wings yet. Remember Clarence the angel from the classic movie ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’? He hasn’t earned his wings until at the very end of the movie.
- You believe in fairies and think some of them are shy or modest and prefer not to flaunt their wings but keep them out of sight until needed.
When I am making them I get a feeling whether they should have wings, or not. I go with my gut instinct! If you are interested to see how I make them please check this link.
Here’s a gallery of some of the fairies. 🙂
If you are interested in how they are made see this blog post.
