YOP16 – Week 17/52 – not much to see here! 🐸

Knitting

On my YOP list is ā€œfrog my Pinwheel mittenā€. This was a kit I bought at Loop London a few years ago and I knitted the first colour work mitten, using the lace-weight yarn! BUT…it was too small and I realised I don’t like the pattern.

This was how the mitten had looked, finished week 37 of YOP13.

This week I frogged it and it felt a relief to be honest. I have a colourwork mitten book that I am sure will have a lace weight pattern, so one day I will knit a pair from that book.

On Monday I cast on Emotional Support Chicken #6. I need to spin some red fibre for her wattle and comb, then attach the eyes and do her base and then she will be finished! I came across the missing chicken eyes I ordered ages ago, they were in a different project bag. I will post a photo of her next Sunday.

Spinning

No spinning this week, my usual Sunday call was cancelled and Tuesday’s spin group was at a friend’s but with me changing my working hours for this week and dog sitting I didn’t make it there.

Other News

We have been looking after my bosses’ dog and as they are away I have worked different hours than usual to make sure we had more than one of us in the building at a time. This and the dog walking really messed with my routine (and energy) and our laundry mountain is ready to topple over.

We have had a nice time looking after her though, we took her to the beach, river Ness, the care home to see my MIL, on tons of walks and she came out for lunch with us twice. I hand her back tomorrow…assuming they landed safely back home after the storms.

On Thursday night we went to see Roachford followed by Hue and Cry (2hrs 45 mins of live music). It was a good evening and took me back to the days of working in a pub/restaurant in the 1980s.

This was a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group has just finished its 16th year, my 9th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us.
