Knitting
I have been totally addicted to the purpleness of my Quick Sand cardigan. One of the skeins was a bit pinker than the others and it was sheer luck that this was the first skein I had pulled out and it’s in the yoke area. This would have looked odd if it had been the 2nd arm that was a different colour!
It is finished and just needs blocking. I did make some adaptations, so once it is blocked I will do a separate FO post with more details. Here’s a pre-blocking snap.

I have made a start on a Lake Reed hat for myself in the Ripples Crafts Oldany DK yarn which is 50% Exmoor Blueface, 30% BFL and 20% Wensleydale.

My friend took a photo of me exploring a channel between the edge and a wee island on the loch. I have plans to go out again a couple of times this week, the other days I will make some lampshades!

This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 11th year, but this is my 4th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry.
Your cardigan looks so so squishy! I like purple too.

The pink accent in the yoke looks so good. How fortunate! I’m giving my son a blow-up 2 person kayak in just a few minutes for his birthday. We live near a small “river”.

How is your son liking the kayak? Has he managed to get out on it now.

Hopefully this weekend. He was really excited about getting it.

Love your projects and what fun to be out in all that Scottish nature on your SUP.

Purple goodness everywhere. The cardi looks so nice and warm. The hat already has great definition.

Oh, the cardigan is gorgeous! I love that yarn! I thought of getting a kayak to use on the lake across the street but we have snakes in the lake, and around the lake and I just decided to pass…..they are poisonous too. I’m not afraid of snakes but I do try to keep away from the poisonous ones! Enjoy!

Oh goodness, no I’m not a fan of snakes. We only have one poisonous snake in Scotland and in 16 years living here I’ve only seen one.

You know me – I love the purples and how special the yoke was the place for the different dye lot. I want to try the sup board. I thought I could rent one at the lake two weeks ago, but alas they only had canoes. It is on my bucket list for sure.

I like kayaking and canoeing too but when you are on a SUP it is lovely to have the feeling of standing on the water and you get a much better view down into the water it seems to spot plant life and look for fish.

It was a fast knit, I think getting round to blocking it took half the time it did to knit it 😂
