Yarn Summary
It was accidental that 5 colours ended up as 2 ply. These are 420m of around Sport/DK.
The rest are all 3 ply (chain/Navajo), 833m ranging from Worsted to Bulky.
1,253m in total…this was measure before soaking the yarn so may be a little less.
I used 3 different wheels to spin and ply these so I’m sure that had contributed to the inconsistency in the twist and in the thickness but I don’t mind at all.
- EEW Eel 2 (singles only)
- Ashford Traveller (spinning and plying)
- Ashford Traditional (plying only).
The finished yarns are all so soft and squishy and gorgeous. If you are new here you may not know that this is my favourite fibre to spin and I always get it from Coastal Colours. It such a pleasure to spin and the colours are lovely.
- My first 200g were bought in 2018 and I made an Easy Goes It shawl.
- My second 291g bought in 2019 I made the Reyna shawl with.
- My third 185g bought in 2020 I made a Twig Beanie and some went into my Nightshift shawl.
- My fourth 245g I also bought in 2020 and made the Easy Goes It DK shawl.
In total that’s >1.5kg of this fibre I’ve spun and I’m sure it won’t be my last.
I’m not a fan of yellow but I think I’ll cope if I mix them in a project amongst the blues.
So what are my plans for these yarns? Well some of the colours I’ll use to make a second the Shift cowl. Whilst the hat I made is lovely and warm this is better used for something that had drape so maybe another shawl but branch out to a different pattern!
Beautiful yarn!!! That was quite a spin, I need to do the 2nd bobbin on some yarn I’ve been working on for months while you are kicking out a ton of handspun yarn!!

beautifully done! And you have loads of color options to work with. I do think the yellow might be a nice accent/color pop in a Nightshift if you go that direction!
