I’m a week behind on my snapshot of the 1st quarter of this YOP year. There still hasn’t been much crafting so I’d forgotten last week about it. I have a few projects that have been forgotten about in project bags so I thought this would be a good opportunity to show a recap of what’s on my needles at the moment.
Knitting
Accessories
I finished knitting the 2nd The Shift Cowl by Andrea Mowry using my handspun. I gifted it to my mum when I was visiting a couple of weekends ago and forgot to photograph it. [edited 29th October when I received the final photo]

I was going to make another Lake Reed hat but I changed my mind part way through the rib and I’m now doing the Classic Rib Hat by Purl Soho. The yarn is La Bien Aimée Corrie Worsted in the colour Amege. You may see I have had to do a couple of decreases but that will be hidden when the brim is folded.

Jumpers/cardigans
I put my Avena jumper onto a longer needle, tried it on and thought it looked more deformed than I’d remembered. Then I realised I was trying it on over a hoodie. 😂🤣 I am going to continue with body and start arms and see how it lies then.

My Singing Stones mittens are going to tone well with my hat I think.

I also have the 2nd Pinwheel mitten to cast on, but I’m preferring the ones above so I’ll prioritise those.
The snapshot is at the end of this post. It’s really done my own comparison reasons.
Other News
My frozen shoulder is easing a little. I’m now able to get my arm lifted to get deodorant on properly…phew! Also it doesn’t immediately wake me when I roll onto my left in the night. I usually wake in the night with it sore but I can tell I must have been sleeping on that side for a while. Small progress is certainly better than none.
My last adventure in my car went well. I had a lovely time visiting a friend in Dumfries, lunch out with another friend, stay at my parents and long weekend in Anglesey with 7 friends, including seaweed bathing at Halen Môn. We stopped for petrol in the Welsh village with a really long name so thought you’d enjoy seeing if you can say it! I did about 1,200 miles on my trip and it’s now been traded in.

I bet your sweater fits better once the hoodie is removed lol. Your 1200 mile trip sounds like a grand time. I would not even begin to try and pronounce the towns name. Good grief! Could you imagine a dressing letters to someone that lives there? I like the hat and mittens together. They will compliment each other quote well.

You should see the train station sign it’s so long lol. I imagine its shortened somehow for postal purposes.

Sometime when I’m done with my present hat-knitting project, and I want to think about knitting hats again, I think I might try the one you show above. I do like the looks of that 1×1 ribbing all the way, but I know it will take me longer than what I’m doing now. Maybe I should start this charity hat-knitting business much earlier in the year, and won’t feel pressured by a deadline when they’re actually needed. So glad your shoulder is healing, Liz.

Whew! Your list is so impressive! It makes me feel a little overwhelmed just looking at it! So glad your shoulder is starting to heal somewhat, and so glad your trip was nice 🙂 I want to hear more about seaweed bathing!
