Knitting
Shawls
This week I cast on Little Gemstones pattern by Claire Slade using my Bluebell Yarn advent. Its short rows and a lot of counting every short row stitch but I am enjoying it. With the background colour being green it should look a little like flower beds!

Spinning
At the Guild I spun one of my advents but it isn’t plied yet so I’ll share that next week.
Weaving
Inkle loom
On my inkle loom I have warped to make a pair of shoelaces using tablet weaving, but I haven’t started yet. Again I’ll have more to show next week.
Other News
This week flew by with working 4 days and on Thursday I spent the day in my greenhouse finally planting lots of vegetable seeds.
My routines have all gone a bit haywire so I need to get back into a better routine to keep up with the housework, gardening and crafting. Its like I had an extended hibernation this winter. Time to do some spring cleaning and get more active.
This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 14th year, but this is my 7th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us.
Your shawl is going to be gorgeous. I love the pattern. I may have to rethink knitting the Butterfly cowl, etc that I have in my queue to use up advent minis. Adding to my queue now – hahaha.

I am literally having to count each and every stitch on the short row rows…but I so far I’ve only done 6 gems and there’s 72 to do so hopefully somewhere between now and the end it will be memorised without counting lol

Gemstone looks like an interesting knit. The elliptical shapes in it remind me a little of the Water shawl pattern.

Gemstones is already quite stunning. It is amazing that the older we get the more we depend on routines to keep us a bit grounded. Looking forward to seeing your shoelaces and new spun yarn.

Your Gemstones shawl is already beautiful – can’t wait to see how you progress on it! Getting out of routine really throws me off too. But you are so disciplined, you will get right back to it!

Little gemstones does look a bit like the dimple blanket. I got fed up of having to count for the short rows too so I started using a stitch marker at each end, moving them up one stitch every turn. Would that work with gemstones too?

I am using markers where the gemstones each start. I’ve not knitted on it for a couple of weeks so I will be back to checking the pattern when I pick it up again.
