YOP15 Week 21/52 – jumper progress

Knitting

I am making great progress on my 2nd Selfish Pullover.  I just need to do the sewn bind off of the arms, finish the body and then do something with the neck.  The neck at the moment is just a provisional cast on but I quite like the solid ring of white it is showing, but I am sure if I actually did a white neck then it would soon look grubby.  I may do rib or may do just a rolled stocking stitch…undecided at the moment.  This is chunky yarn, which is why progress is so fast.

Spinning

I did some spinning but haven’t finished the singles yet, I will show it when its plied.

Weaving

Inkle loom

My shoelaces got their metal aglets on and threaded onto the same shoes my red ones had been on, for now.  I did a detailed post, about the 2 pairs of shoelaces I have woven, earlier in the week.  They are a bit short but I am happy with them.

I would like to make another belt next.

Other News

A quiet week with not too much happening.  After my post last Sunday we had a lovely day at Highland Wildlife Park.

We had our first snowfall (note to self…time to take down the autumn leaf decorations) 🤣.  It stayed for a couple of days but has melted now.

Coming up we have a mini break planned in Edinburgh to see a live show and see the giant lanterns at Edinburgh Zoo one evening.

Oh and we got contacted by someone interested in adopting the parrot.  We shall see over the coming weeks if that happens and works out.  🤷‍♀️

This is a Year of Projects post.  Officially the Group is in its 15th year, but this is my 8th year participating.  If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us.

Year 15 list.

  1. Best wishes on the parrot. Hope it finds a happy home. The giant lanterns are the same type of lantern display we got to see at the Evansville Zoo. Loved them. Your shoelaces are so cute. Your sweater looks terrific. I agree I like the white neckline but also agree necks and sleeve cuffs are asking for trouble when white.

  2. Wow that sweater is so pretty, love to look at color work, but not so much knitting it :P. Maybe a rolled white neckline, or maybe a 1X1 rib with a couple of rows of white and then red for a few rounds, to break up the red and match the white color work :). I know you will figure out how you want to finish the neck 🙂

Loving your shoe laces, the color is so pretty.

  3. The shoelaces have turned out just awesome. And I like the look of that sweater as well–looking forward to seeing it done (and you wearing it, of course. 😊) Hoping for happy news on the parrot front.
