YOP15 Week 23-24/52 – 2nd Selfish Pullover

Knitting

This week I finished my 2nd Selfish Pullover.   My last one was size 3, this one size 2 but the same yarn.  I am happy with the pre-blocking fit and think once it is dry it will hang looser as the yarn had some spinning oil still in.

I made some adaptations but my notes haven’t been very good on this one.  I did a provisional cast on and I did a row of contrast before doing a rib neck.

Here’s a pre-blocked quick photo.  It has some wrinkles from it being on my knee whilst I was doing other parts…it isn’t really that I am the Michelin man.

At the Guild I took my sock knitting but seemed to mostly just chat and didn’t get many rows added to them.

Other News

I had a sore lower back that I couldn’t seem to fix with stretches on my own, so on Wednesday I went to see the local physio.  Not only did she sort my back she has given me lots of exercises for my frozen shoulder now I am in the thawing phase.  In fact some of the stretches she was doing for my back has really given me some more movement back in my shoulder.  I am going back on Wednesday for some more guidance on stretches for it as she says this is the key stage I need to work on getting all the movement back.

Fingers crossed this goes well and I could get back to felting in 2026!

This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 15th year, but this is my 8th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us.

  1. Agree the Size 2 fits great. Love the color. I like the row of color before the ribbed collar. I think I’ll be trying that on a future sweater. Soo glad to hear the shoulder is thawing and you were able to get back relief. I’ve been struggling a bit with hip pain and finally had to breakdown and take some extra strength Tylenol so I could sleep. I need to do more Pilates to keep stretching it. Best wishes as you wrap up the year at work and get to enjoy some end of the year time off.

    • I take the doTERRA turmeric (capsule in a capsule – oil in the inside capsule and powder in the outer capsule) and they work really well for the arthritis in my knee and the tendons or ligaments behind it. I can tell when I forget to take it for a few days and my arthritis moves back in. Turmeric is a good anti inflammatory.

    • I usually do the stretches Bob and Brad YouTube channel suggest for piriformis muscle pain as that’s usually the problem. This time I actually needed some manipulation and was glad I finally contacted the physio. I haven’t tried Pilates but am hopeful I can start yoga again as my arm improves.

  2. Wow I love the color work design on that, really pretty!

So glad your physio therapist is helping with your shoulder!!

When you said “it isn’t really that I am the Michelin man” I burst out laughing. When I broke the knuckle under my little finger they put a cast on it and I had to keep it from getting wet. I figured I’d put a towel over the cast in case the next layer leaked, and a kitchen trash bag over that and had to secure them with large rubber bands (creative when we have to be). I felt like I was struggling to shower and wash myself, but when I got out of the shower and looked in the mirror I felt like I looked like the Michelin man and burst out laughing at myself. Picked my spirits up when I saw myself in the mirror, LOL.
