Time for my mid YOP year snapshot. Compared with previous YOP years, this is the least I have achieved craft wise.
I am not sure what happened in the second half of 2025 but I just lost my energy for doing stuff. Not just crafting, but reading, walking to work, tidying up the garden, keeping on top of the housework and laundry, doing some DIY jobs; I just lost a good dose of my usual energy. I skipped posting an update more times in the last half year than I have the previous 7 years put together!
In the first half of 2025 (during the 2nd half of YOP14) I completed 43 craft projects, in the second half I completed 11!!!!!
In 2026 I am determined to get back my energy and my mojo!
Anyway, here is my snapshot…

This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 15th year, but this is my 8th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us.
Must be something in the air. I seem to have slowed down my knitting as well. Trying not to beat myself up as this is supposed to be my fun craft. As I take on more challenging projects, I get scared and I subconsciously avoid working on projects for fear I’m doing it wrong and have to rip out what I’ve done. Currently I’m worried I’m not doing the yoke dimensions properly on my cardigan.

Personally I found 2025 to be a challenging year for me and I know this affected my ability to complete things. Give yourself some grace and begin 2026 with a new clean slate.

I think it’s the year of the leasts for quite a few people, including myself. I’m definitely hoping for a better 2026. Have a healthy and creative one!

You had a lot of stress and things going on this year. Good for you for honoring your energy level and body and doing what you could do comfortably. It will come back for you!

I hope this isn’t a near duplicate comment. I wrote a comment, but for some reason, after I hit the “comment” button, I got a message saying I couldn’t post. Feel free to delete one if both comments actually end up coming through.
Anyway… I appreciate you writing about losing some motivation this year. I have felt similarly – especially about yarny things. I hope you regain some mojo in the new year. 🙂

I think 2025 was a difficult year for many, so am drop in ‘production’ is understandable. Needless to say the crafts and this group will always be there, as and when needed 😊
