YOP15 Week 41/52 – Woven handtowels FO

Sewing

Yesterday, whilst my sewing machine was out I thought I would play around with sewing some woven samples into little pouches.

The one on the left was a sample of Diamond Stripe pattern by Kelly Casanova that I wove ages ago using WYS Exquisite Lace.  I have turned it into a glasses pouch for my cheap reading specs.

The smaller pouch is the cotton 4 shaft sample I finished a few weeks ago on my rigid heddle loom that I sewed into a tiny pouch…no idea what I would keep in it!

Spinning

I have spun about 50g of Welsh x Bluefaced Leicester  fibre.  When I have spun the other half and plied it I will show it!

Yesterday I hemmed the towels I recently wove and I am pretty happy with them.  The yarn is Lily’s Sugar’n Cream cotton in white  and Emerald Energy.

Other News

On Thursday I had attempt number 4 to get some blood and unbelievably they still couldn’t get any.  I burst into tears, there must be some in there!  I had been awake 2.5 hours earlier to drink 2 litres, I walked 1.5 miles to the practice to get my blood pumping and drank more water and I was warm.  Still nothing arrrggghhhhh!!

So I go back on Monday and see the nurse practitioner who doesn’t take blood these days because she is too senior, but when I used to have it tested monthly she was the one who could get it…albeit super painful out of the vein at my wrist bone…wish my luck!

There hasn’t been much crafting this week, I did my tax return, have started sorting some stuff to send off to Vintage Cash Cow to help declutter some stuff.

I have been having a think about my blog and whether I am going to have stuff to show each week.  There’s quite a lot that needs doing around the house and in the garden so I may not always have content to share each week.  I guess we will see, but just to say don’t worry if I skip a week or two.  If I have any FOs I will still share them of course.

This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 15th year, but this is my 8th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us.
