Arm knitting advices

Hi knitting friends.

I have been knitting the Turtle Dove jumper by Espace Tricot and I want to do full length sleeves instead of the half length sleeves in the pattern. I am also thinking of adding more length. So this then becomes a question of do I have enough yarn for both?

So here is my question…can you knit two arms at the same time when they are sleeves that are already attached…i.e. pick up the stitches on both arms on my longest circular needle with 2 separate balls of yarn?

Here’s why I’m thinking of doing this:

  1. I don’t have needles half a size up and know that if I do a single sleeve on circular needle my tension is much tighter and think TAAT will stop me whizzing around so fast and tightly.
  2. I want to add some decreases to the sleeves and based on previous projects I know I find it hard to remember where the decreases were and lose count so arms don’t match…fine in thinner yarn but may be more obvious in this bulky yarn.
  3. I don’t want to get 2nd sleeve syndrome.
  4. I have 2 unused balls so it seems a good idea to do this first and then finish the body.

What’s stopping me…I don’t know if it’s possible to do this! I know you can knit TAAT sleeves when they are going to be seamed but not sure if I can do it when picking up stitches.
