I’m back from a fabulous two week holiday, where I visited friends in Toronto, Michigan and Wisconsin.
My travel blog has some holiday posts, but this post is purely about the goodies I bought or was gifted.
In Toronto I had hand luggage only so when I found “Yarns Untangled” store I picked up some Canadian made stitch markers and resisted buying any yarn. They have some lovely mini gradient sets I was tempted by.

In Wisconsin I met up with 4 of my online blogging friends (and 3 of their friends) at the Gather Guest House. There were some gifts exchanged and purchases made at the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival and at Sow’s Ear Yarn shop.

The Purveyor of Fine Yarns (DK 100% Cormo) (top right);
Juniper Moon Herriot Fine (Light Fingering 75% fine alpaca/25% nylon) x 2 (middle right);
Chestnut Hills Farm and Fiber (100% Worsted organic wool)² (bottom right) (gift)

a sock project bag;
some fun stitch markers, an alpaca project label and shawl cuff (not leather);
a handmade bag³ (gift)

¹ originally from Loop London, gifted to me by Kirsten
² Jess had commissioned Alissa (from Headknits blog and Chestnut Hills Farm & Fibre on Etsy) to dye us a skein of yarn each that contained all our favourite colours. She produced this beautiful colourway in an organic non-superwash yarn.
³ Alissa made each of us a project/shopping bag that folds up.
⁴ I ordered these kits and had them delivered to one of the ladies. I’ve started the shawl and made her ears so far.
⁵ Sarah made a yarn cake cosy and also gave me a pack of Minions Uno…she knows how much I love Minions
It sounds like you had a wonderful experience.

So glad you had such wonderful travels – it makes me feel like the last 2-1/2 years of pandemic are just a memory, seeing all the smiling faces together enjoying each others’ company. So many beautiful fiber-related memories from your trip too!

I was very out of practice in being in a large group and chatting. It was lovely though after having all chatted online to actually meet for real.
