YOP13 Weeks 5-6/53

I’ve been crazy tired this week after a long weekend at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival. I didn’t drink much but my Fitbit did say I’d walked 32 miles over the 4 days…suspect a lot of that was from dancing. 💃🏼

Crochet

Well it’s been a while since I did any crocheting but I made the small and large bowl using the kit from Lily K. The yarn is Bobbinny 5mm recycled cotton cord in Aloe colour.

It is pretty tough on your fingers and I broke an 8mm wooden crochet hook, my bamboo one survived. In hindsight I did do the stitches too tight as they aren’t rounded bowls but go inwards slightly.

Knitting

Jumpers/cardigans

My Selfish Pullover was finally dry so I could do a post about it. The back is now lying correctly and the yarn has softened up and I’m ready for the cold weather now.

Click here if you missed my FO post about it.

Weaving

Inkle loom

I did some inkle weaving before Belladrum week but the parrot seems frightened of the loom so I’ll wait until she has gone back to my mother in law before I do some more.

Other News

It’s been a pretty busy 2 weeks, what with getting to grips with my new role, packing for Belladrum, being there and then recovering from it, then back at work again. Hopefully next week I can start getting into a good routine, as I’ll be doing my Monday, Wednesday and Friday work pattern. This week it was Mon-Wed and by the time I got home on Wednesday I was pretty exhausted. I managed to walk there and back on Tuesday. I’ll try to walk another day next week too.

To the bloggers I follow and normally read and comment on, I’ve been having some issues keeping up the last few weeks. I’m determined to sort out a proper routine this week for work, housework, crafting and blog reading/commenting!

This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 13th year, but this is my 6th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us. (There are 53 Sundays this YOP year, it happens sometimes!).

Year 13 list.

  1. Oooh I love those bowls! The colour is gorgeous and they’re generally lovely pieces. I can see the slight tapering in the smaller one, but I’d call it a happy accident or totally on purpose style 😉. They still look great.
Do they have solid wooden bottoms?

  2. The bowls are cute. Thick fiber of any kind is very hard on the hands. Those bowls will have many uses too. Looks like your time at Belladrum was fun. I love the rainbow pants to match the rainbow on your shirt.

  3. Not to worry about commenting. You definitely have had a busy few weeks. Hope the job is enjoyable. Definitely will be better once you get into a routine. Your pullover came out fantastic. The bowls are cute. I plan to stick my toe into crochet with the tiny woobles. Just found out today my niece is having a baby in Jan so I certainly have kids to gift crocheted animals to.

  4. I think they are very cute bowls. I understand about time and schedules, I use to joke that I had to go back to work to rest after a vacation. I like my schedules, not having them makes me a bit anxious. I even told my daughter, no spur of the moment things, I’m not a spur of the moment kinda girl. :P. LOL she is.

  5. Those bowls are really cute, I might have a mosey on over to the shop (can you mosey on the internet…?) looks like you had a lot of fun this week, it’s hard to keep up with everything.

  6. Those pants are so joyful!!! I love occasions to wear things you normally wouldn’t. I’m so glad you had an amazing time of dancing and frivolity!

I LOVE your crochet baskets! I also enjoy a nice crochet basket. I haven’t made one with a solid bottom yet, but I like the idea! This way there are no pesky increase rounds to deal with, and it won’t list if the bottom isn’t completely flat.

Trying to schedule work into a moderately established routine can be challenging! Good luck, and I’m glad you are close enough to walk. It always feels good, and I tend to have a clearer head and a better day when I walk to work.
