YOP13 Week 17/53 – jumper progress

Knitting

Jumpers/cardigans

My progress on my Fern and Feather has been quite good, mostly last Sunday and yesterday. I’m on the hip increases at the moment so before you know it I’ll be on to sleeve island.

Weaving

Rigid heddle loom

I’ve warped my 10” loom with some of my handspun, a bouncy fluffy Rambouillet and some very finely spun yak/silk blend. My plan is to make a scarf and there should be hopefully enough to make a matching hat or headband. I’m using my 2.5 dpi reed/heddle so I’m hoping that it will have a loose structure. More on this next week hopefully.

Other News

Well it’s been rain rain rain rain and wind this week, localised flooding, ponds developing on our gravel and grass but luckily we live up a hill, those in town at the bottom of the hill needed sandbags to keep the rising water out. The forecast for the rest of the week seems to be more rain ☔️😳

This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 13th year, but this is my 6th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us. (There are 53 Sundays this YOP year, it happens sometimes!).

Year 13 list.

  1. Your jumper looks great. I like those colors together. I bet that scarf is going to be soft and cuddly. Thank goodness you are on a hill so no sandbags needed. I feel for the folks at the bottom of the hill though.

  2. Your fern & feather looks very nice, I like the contrasting of pink on the purple. I look forward to your progress on the scarf. :). The lower midwest states here in the US are wishing they could have that rain!

  3. Your jumper looks terrific. It really is a pretty colorwork. Sorry to hear about the flooding. My son was showing me the drainage they put in their backyard and was praising how well it did during the last hurricane that hit Florida.
