YOP13 Week 31/53 – fibre prep

Fibre Prep

Last year I got lots of wool fibre from my friend Norah. She had processed it from raw fleece and dyed it, but didn’t want to move house with it. There were lots of different colours and I decided to make up some beach and sea batts using some of the fibres. Hopefully they will all felt well when I use them in my lampshades.

Knitting

Accessories

I finished my Carmel Beanie and wasn’t struck on the brim section, so I undid the cast on edge and knit enough to fold the brim over. I’m much happier now.

Jumpers/cardigans

I have frogged my Turtle Dove II. When I tried it on I didn’t like the stiffness of the fabric and lack of drape. So I’ll use the yarn on something else.

Other News

I got lovely feedback on the lampshades, which if you follow my Facebook page you can see there.

I’m away with girlfriends in Anglesey having drinks, food, walks and laughs.

This is a Year of Projects post.  Officially the Group is in its 13th year, but this is my 6th year participating.  If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us.  (There are 53 Sundays this YOP year, it happens sometimes!).

Year 13 list.

  1. That fiber will make lovely lampshades. Your hat turned out great and looks fantastic on you. Taking out the cast on edge is not for sissies. But it turned out so nice. Sorry to hear the jumper was not turning out properly. Enjoy you get away.

  2. Oh, those are beautiful colors for roving. I just watched the Grocery Girls podcast and now I really want to make some Thrum mittens that use roving. They would be gifts for my son’s girlfriend’s grandparents. They live in northern Minnesota. Your hat looks terrific. Super cute tag. I’m looking forward to using some tags that I got for Christmas for my knitwear. Sorry to hear the Turtle Dove II didn’t work out.
