YOP14 Week 19/52 – stash enhancement holiday souvenirs

We were away this week, staying in a holiday rental in Fife.  Fife is a peninsula just north of Edinburgh, south of Dundee.  I bought some goodies!

Acquisitions/Collection Curation

We stopped for some yarn shopping in The Woolly Brew in Pittenweem.  It’s about 10 miles south of St. Andrew’s (famous as the home of golf and its university) and well worth a visit if you are nearby.  Its lovely to find a little yarn shop that isn’t just full of acrylic yarns.

I only did a tiny bit of knitting this week.  A little gnome hat for the ADVENTure gnome.

Other News

I won’t be doing a travel blog post about our trip to Fife as I hardly took any photos.  We had a relaxing trip, did some bird watching, had fish and chips in Anstruther, ice cream in St Andrew’s and a delicious Sunday lunch at the Boar’s Head in Achtermuchty.   Our dog is 16.5 years old so she’s not up for doing much these days so holidays are at her pace.  Our cottage smelt a bit musty and damp so I won’t be recommending it and will need to wash everything we took including my project bags.  But we had a good week.

This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 14th year, but this is my 7th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us.

Year 14 list.

  1. I love your mini skein enhancement; well, all of your new yarn is just yummy! I just cleaned up my stash and put the mini skeins all together and now I’m on the hunt for ways to use them well. I see some Fair Isle socks in the future, but I also have a 10 skein set to figure out. I’m knitting really slowly still, so I have lots of time.
