YOP14 Week 45/52 – social spinning

Knitting

Shawls

This week I had a catch up call with a friend I hadn’t chatted to for a few months.  During it I added a few rows to my poncho.  Well its not like I can chat at the same time as counting my stitches on the Little Gemstones Shawl. 🤣

Talking of that shawl, I finished another row, but I don’t have a photo.  There’s one more row to go (I think) so once its finished I’ll share a final photo.

Spinning

Our Guild met in Poolewe yesterday, which is on beautiful west coast of the Highlands.  (I live on the east coast which is pretty, but not the white sands and turquoise waters of the west.)  Lots of locals and tourists dropped in to see what we were doing and chat and one of the Guild ladies gave some lessons.

It was a lovely day and I managed to spin two more days of my fibre advent.  When I got home I plied them but haven’t wound them off the bobbin yet.  But here’s a snap of them on the bobbin.  They look under plied on the photos but when I wind them off a bit it all looks fine.

Weaving

Some time was found to add a bit to my shoelaces. I can’t recall showing a photo of them yet, so here’s a snap taken yesterday.

Other News

Quite a lot of this week was spent in the vegetable garden and greenhouse. Transplanting seedlings, potting on some items and planting out some others.  Doing lots of watering as its been unusually dry recently.  I haven’t done any posts on my garden blog this year but maybe I’ll get a chance this week.

I’m pretty shattered now from doing so much socialising yesterday, so I can’t remember if anything else happened this week. 🤦‍♀️. See you next Sunday.

This is a Year of Projects post.  Officially the Group is in its 14th year, but this is my 7th year participating.  If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us.

Year 14 list.
