YOP11 Week 16/52 – Gnome is where the heart is!

Felting

I dropped off some baubles at the gallery.

Plus, a free standing witch and pumpkin that are being sold as a pair.

She was a test for a free standing figure but she worked really well. Colour wise I had to also use some merino tops which isn’t as easy to needlefelt as corriedale so I have ordered some more colours of corriedale wool.

I then made a couple of santa gnomes/tomte.

Then made a couple of woodland gnomes.

Knitting

I’m making slow progress on my Winding Down jumper. We have been watching Maid on Netflix and I keep forgetting to knit during. Andi McDowell ‘s daughter plays the lead and she is a much better actress than her mum (who is also in it). Anyway progress is being made and I’m really so glad I ripped back the larger size.

Weaving

I have done a few inches of my tea towel!

Other News

I’m not sure where a lot of this week went. It flew buy. I didn’t manage to get out on my SUP this week, hoping to maybe get out next week.

This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 11th year, but this is my 4th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry.

  1. Your gnomes and tomte are precious. You are the first person I have met who knew about tomte. I have had one for years. He comes out each winter and stays out until spring rolls around. Your witch and pumpkin turned out so nice. How cool is it that they are free standing. That just opened up a whole new world for you, huh. Your jumper is looking fantastic. Hopefully you will be able to get out on the SUP this week.

  4. Such a cute witch and pumpkin. You are so clever. Your garden must be just about done now.
I went on a real hike this past weekend with my daughter in Connecticut. It was pretty steep but the corgis did well. We were all really tired for the 3 hr drive home but it was worth it. We also had a pork pie (I made them myself) picnic lunch by the river that we followed. It was so fun. Cheese and honey jelly on rosemary biscuits, cider, along with my canned applesauce followed by molasses cookies and hot thermos of tea, all spread on a tartan rug. I can’t wait to go again. The autumn leaves are just starting to have color so it was a beautiful day.
I LOVE you winding down sweater, it’s turning out perfect.

    • That sounds like a wonderful trip. I haven’t been to Connecticut yet…perhaps one day. I’ve been to New York (incl upstate) and Massachusetts but not much else along the north east. Sounds like autumn is a good time.
