YOP12 Weeks 5&6/52 – frogging unworn projects

I have frogged two projects that I did years ago but never wear. One was Lintilla and the other a Hitchhiker. Both of them were knitted in Ripples Crafts Reliable Sock yarn, which is a great yarn for socks but it is not soft and doesn’t feel nice to my neck which is why they never get worn. So better to unravel them and I’ll use the yarn for socks. (Not that I’m short of sock yarns 😂)

Painting & Drawing

I am still totally and utterly addicted to digital colouring in. I am going to try to wean myself down to just 3-5 pictures a day (yesterday I did 45!!!!!!). On Friday it told me I’d coloured in 120,000 areas!! I’m surprised I haven’t worn my ipad screen away!

I have a track record with getting addicted to certain games. One day my ex-husband left for work and I was playing Toy Story on the PlayStation 1…when he got home 9 hours later I was sat in my PJs still playing it and spent about 5 hours trying to get a pizza planet token from up a tree! Ironic that some of the pictures I have been colouring in are from Toy Story. I should just delete it but I’m going to see if I can cut down! Don’t download it folks…2nd warning.

Other News

My foot is still sore and on Monday that will be 4 weeks so I guess I should ring the doctor and see what’s going on with it. 🙄

Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival was absolutely brilliant. I was there from Thursday to Sunday which is why there was no post last Sunday. I can’t wait to buy my tickets for next year’s. The atmosphere is brilliant. I have done a separate post about it on my travel blog.

Hopefully next week I will have some proper crafting to report!

This is a Year of Projects post.  Officially the Group is in its 12th year, but this is my 5th year participating.  If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry.

Year 12 list.

  1. Beautiful colors in those yarns – definitely too nice to languish in unused projects. I’m actually going to rip back the bottom hem of my Love Note this week and add some length to it. I normally never need to do that but I think it’s a bit too cropped for my liking and I have some leftover yarn so…. an easy choice. Definitely go get your foot looked at. I am 98% sure I broke my foot about 8 years ago but was on travel for work and by the time I got home 7 days later, figured eh…. not worth a trip to the doctor…. but now I am noticing I can’t wear certain shoes or run on certain surfaces without pain so I probably should have.

  2. Congrats on frogging items you don’t wear. I need to do that to some of my early knits. I just don’t wear shawls. Good warning on the coloring. I was like that with playing solitary online.

  3. I hope you get to the bottom of the foot problem soon. Good for you, on frogging the projects you don’t use.

  4. Haha, it is so easy to get sucked into something like that. I remember spending hours and hours on The Sims until I realised it wasn’t healthy to spend more time on developing their lives/careers/relationships while I ate crisps in my pyjamas every day 😂 I need to frog a jumper I love but never wear because the neckline was far too wide. It’s a good call, but so hard to make. I love that second colourway though and it deserves to be worn. I hope you solve your foot problems.

  5. Frogging is such a hard decision to make, but usually so satisfying once it’s done. Much better to have the yarn than FOs that you aren’t happy with. Sorry to hear about your foot – probably time to get professional advice!

  6. Glad you are able to reuse the yarns and yes, go back to the doctor about your foot. I hope it’s nothing serious. Digital coloring? All done on your Ipad? I loved to color as a child and I have a few books to color but I have too many other irons in the fire. As long as you enjoy it that’s all that matters.
