2022 Summary

The last four years I have done an end of year summary, not just crafting items, but holidays and events. This is mostly for my own records.

The year in numbers

  • 123 creative projects:
    • 59 felted
      • 25 lampshades
      • 14 fairies
      • 9 Tomte/gnomes
      • 8 baubles
      • 1 jubilee pouch
      • 1 jubilee mat
      • 1 wastepaper bin
    • 13 finished knitted projects
      • 5 sock pairs
      • 3 jumpers
      • 2 shawls
      • 2 cowls
      • 2 hats
    • 16 baubles filled
    • 12 fibres (or blends) spun (over 1 mile of finished yarns)
    • 6 Dorset buttons made (or maybe more I lost count lol)
    • 5 crocheted projects
    • 4 dyed yarns or fibres
    • 3 sewn projects
    • 2 weaving projects producing 4 woven items
    • 2 pastel drawings
    • 1 wood turned fruit bowl
  • 41 books:
    • 11 read (paper or kindle)
    • 30 audiobooks
  • 7 cinema visits
  • 4 days out on Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP)
  • 3 music concerts/festivals
  • 3 countries visited
  • 3 cottage/glampod breaks
  • 1 Covid infection and 1 booster vaccination
  • 1 hair cut
  • 1 afternoon tea

Like the last couple of years, I have included at the bottom a yarn incoming -v- outgoing summary. You may wish to skip down to that section, as the monthly summary is really for my own records. I share it on here because itโ€™s lovely (for me) to have to look back on, it helps remind me which year things happened and I may inspire others to do the same . (I draft this post during the year and add the totals at the end of the year.)

Edit: Now the December sales have been received I can now record total sales during the year: Lampshades 21 (13 x 20cm, 6 x 25cm, 1 x 35cm and 1 x 40cm), Fairies 17 (12 normal, 5 sparkly), 9 Tomte and 7 baubles. Sales are lower because I made less to begin with. All fairies were sold, all but 1 bauble and 1 tomte were sold. 8 lampshades remain in stock at the shop.

Yarn Usage Summary

Well its not great, I have more incoming than outgoing again. Although some of that is from projects I frogged and some is handspun. Next year I have no plans to visit any fibre festivals or yarn shops and I have projects planned that will be using stash. So I’m going to try to convince myself that next year I will use more and aim to buy less than one mile!

  1. I just have to ask – what’s a “glampod”?? I’m familiar with glamping, but I’ve never seen a pod in which to do it! And that’s the closest I can come to guessing… I especially like seeing the presumably hand knit hats in your photo montage.
