Knitting
Jumpers/cardigans
I’ve been doing so much gardening that my hands have been a little sore in the evenings so I’ve not been doing very much knitting. I’ve added some rows to my Avena though and have caught back up to when I had to rip it out.
Spinning
I’ve finished spinning the baby camel and tussah silk advent that I received in 2021! I’m really happy with it. There is a separate post about it, but just to say this week I finished the darkest blue and finally spun the yellows.

On Saturday the Guild had their open day at a new location, at the Dundreggan Rewilding Centre. I travelled down with two friends from the Guild and we had a lovely day.
Each year the plan is to have one open day in a different location in the Highlands, since it covers such a vast area. I took along some sheep breeds as I’m obviously keen to now finish that spinning project too. It was a fabulous day and a great location, its dog friendly in the cafe so I’ll go down with my husband and our dog next time.
I spun Lleyn (blue bobbins), Lonk (grey) and when I got home I finished the Charollais (green). I need to ply each of them to tell what the finished yarns are like, but all of them were enjoyable but I especially enjoyed the Charollais. I’ll share a photo next week of the plied yarns.

Other News
I was contacted by my old employer about helping them out for 2 weeks, so I’ve agreed. I’ll be doing the same hours as I was starting tomorrow. With the money I’m hoping to get a bit of landscaping of our patio area done.
The gallery has sold the last of my 25cm lampshades, so I’ll try to get some more made next week if I can fit that in.
This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 13th year, but this is my 6th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us. (There are 53 Sundays this YOP year, it happens sometimes!).
See, I knew there was a reason I didn’t garden! (beside the fact I’m terrible at it). The exercise would be good for me. I definitely sit too much with knitting. My Florida knitting group has really gotten into spinning. Don’t know if I’ll be able to continue to resist. Course then I look at the cost of an e-spinner and it’s a lot easier to resist. Yes, yes!! More beautiful lampshades!

So happy you’ve had good enough weather for that much gardening! We had hail and close to freezing temps here last night, so I’m still moving pots of flowers around trying to get them thru until it finally becomes spring here in earnest. Looking forward to hearing about your finished breed study skeins!

Look at all those beautiful skeins of yarn!!! I’m following your breed study as well, are the faces associated with the softness or the ease of spinning the fiber?

It’s the enjoyment of spinning them and the finished yarn it produced.

Your yarn is so beautiful! I will be interested to hear your thoughts on the breeds you are spinning. That is a very cool project 🙂

My hands have hurt a few times after gardening, so I guess it’s been good that it’s rained a lot lately and kept me inside. My hands don’t hurt at the moment. ;^)
