Knitting
I did not manage to find time to do any knitting this week.
Spinning
If you missed last week’s post, I had been on a luxury fibre spinning course and last week showed the different silk samples. This week I plied the Angora rabbit top, angora rabbit cutting, alpaca, bleached camel down and dehaired baby camel top.

Out of all the samples I would say I liked spinning the camel, angora rabbit top and silk hankies the most…mohair the least.
I found more of the green and purple fibre that I thought I had finished, so took that to spin group on Tuesday. I won’t share a photo as it looks just like the other half I spun and shared before.
It will soon be July when Tour de Fleece will be on so expect more weeks of spinning ahead.
Other News
My mother in law had another fall and has broken her hip. She had an operation on Tuesday and yesterday wasn’t looking or feeling good. They were giving her a blood transfusion when we were there. We will go back to see her today and hope the extra blood will have perked her up a little.
I will be honest, a huge proportion of my spare time this week has been spent scrolling through videos of the Tartan Army (Scotland football fans) living their best lives in Boston (and beyond). They have brought so much joy to so many people at home, to anyone who has stumbled across them in person or watched their videos.
Having been a juror on a pedophile case last month, I had really lost my faith in men and was finding it hard not to look with suspicion at men. I told my juror counsellor on Thursday that these fans have really hugely helped re-set my mind. Hugely proud of these guys. Just hope their livers and bank balances recover. (If you ever have to serve on a jury for a particularly traumatic case and they offer you counselling, I would definitely recommend you take that up. I literally felt a weight lift off my shoulders.)
I catalogued and boxed up all my photography equipment and dropped it at a camera place to get a quote from them for either buying it from me or what I would expect to get if they sell it on my behalf on a commission basis. I need to be realistic about hobbies that I am no longer going to be doing in future. I do tend to throw myself into a hobby, buy lots of equipment and accessories for it and then move on to the next thing.
Golf, camping, painting, standup paddleboarding, felting…these are all hobbies taking up space in the house and I haven’t done them in a few years. Photography I hadn’t done for maybe 7 years so it was definitely time for the stuff to go. I have a plan to do a painting for my newly painted room though!!
How long does it take you to know you aren’t going to go back to something and say goodbye to its associated ‘stuff’?
Next week is my wrap up post for year 15!
This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 15th year, but this is my 8th year participating. If you would like to find more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, as you’d be very welcome to join us.
